About Me.
I’m Sofía Hidalgo, a pianist, composer, and arranger who believes in the power of music to evoke emotion and tell a story. From my earliest days at the piano to my current work composing for film and arranging for ensembles, music has always been my way of connecting with the world.
Why Music?
Music has always been my companion; it has helped me connect with the world and express my emotions. Whether I find inspiration in peaceful moments or energetic rollercoasters, each experience can be translated to the powerful language of music.
The Journey
From my early days as the youngest member of an orchestra in Mexico to performing alongside the talented musicians at LIPA, each step of my journey has shaped who I am today.
Composing
I love blending classical with contemporary music when it comes to composing. My biggest inspirations are artists like Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, and Yiruma. Using the piano and orchestral textures to craft stories, my music evokes feelings and transports listeners to my world.
Composing & Arranging
In both arranging and composing, I love blending classical and contemporary styles to create music that speaks to the heart. Whether reimagining pop songs for quartets, transcribing for brass, or crafting cinematic pieces inspired by Ludovico Einaudi, Hans Zimmer, and Yiruma, my focus is always on giving each instrument a voice. Using piano and orchestral textures, I strive to evoke emotions and transport listeners into my world.
Arranging
The pieces I’ve arranged come from a handful of genres. Whether I’m reimagining pop songs for quartets or transcribing sheets for brass instruments, I strive to create arrangements that speak to the heart. In my arrangements, it’s all about giving a voice to each instrument.
Who am I?
I’ve grown into an artist who isn’t afraid to push boundaries, to mix genres, and to make music that feels true to who I am. I embrace every side of myself—the classical pianist, the contemporary composer, and the modern-day storyteller. Music is still my way of connecting with the world, but now, it’s also my way of carving out my own space in it.
What's Next?
I’m focused on expanding my reach, collaborating with new artists, and creating music that resonates with others. I’m always up for challenges and adventures–scoring films, playing different genres, bringing my sound to stages around the world… The journey is ongoing, and each new project helps me grow as an artist and shape the direction I want to take.

My Biography.
I’m Sofía Hidalgo, a pianist, composer, and arranger blending classical roots with contemporary influences. Classically trained from a young age, I’ve performed in orchestras, worked as a session musician across ten bands, and adapted to genres from Classical and Bolero to Pop and R&B.
A defining moment was my final recital at Interlochen Arts Camp in 2017, when I decided I wanted to pursue music professionally. Now, in 2025, I’m following that dream studying a BA in Music.
I’ve scored Revenants, an award-winning short film by Jedric Villar, had my compositions performed by a string quintet, and played at festivals like Alpaka Fest in Spain. I am grateful for every opportunity that comes my way. Music is my constant evolution and I can’t wait to see where the next project takes me.

Where I've Been
Being born in Venezuela, growing up in Mexico, living 3 years in Spain, and studying university in the U.K, not to mention the 16 countries I’ve visited, has given me a global perspective of music. From house parties to grand concert halls, each stage has been a unique opportunity to connect with audiences around the world.
I’ve performed in Mexico, Costa Rica, Spain, the US and the UK, collaborating with musicians from a variety of cultures. Whether it’s performing at international festivals, working in studios, or sharing my music in creative spaces, each experience has shaped my sound, blending rich influences into something uniquely my own.

I play the psaltery, a 90-string plucked instrument. I started playing it when I was 11 years old, and you can listen to it in some sections of my first two singles.

Fun Facts

The first concert I ever took a video of was Paul McCartney’s performance in Mexico City in 2017. Funny how now I’m studying at the university he founded!
In 2023, Hershey’s chocolates with an animated version of me were sold across Mexico. Their flavor was cookies and creme, which happens to be the colors of a piano.

Baby Taylor Swift and baby me give off the exact same vibe.
